First Grade Leaf Prints

We printed leaves in first grade a few weeks ago. It was a fun and timely one day project. I'm finding that seasons and weather are major subjects of study in elementary schools.

The kids really followed the complex steps well and they had fun blending colors on their leaves. For the first group two classes I actually went into the mountains to gather leaves. For the last two classes I just gathered leaves from my own backyard. While the leaves from my yard were not as diverse in shape as the mountain leaves, they seemed to have much more defined veins and therefore actually left better prints.
